Frequently Asked Questions

What happens during the free 15-minute introduction call?

This call is a chance for us to briefly connect, talk about what’s bringing you to counselling, and see if we’re a good fit. There’s no pressure to commit—just an opportunity to ask questions and get a feel for how I work.

What can I expect from the first session?

Your first session is guided by you. You can share as much or as little as you feel ready to, and we’ll go at a pace that feels comfortable. It’s a space for you to begin exploring what you’d like support with, without any pressure or expectations.

How long are sessions and how much do they cost?

Each counselling session lasts 50 minutes and costs £55. The initial 15-minute introduction call is free. You can choose to meet in person in Bedford or online via Zoom.

Do you offer online sessions?

Yes, I offer online sessions over Zoom for clients who prefer the flexibility or comfort of meeting from home. You’ll receive a secure link before each session.

Is counselling confidential?

Yes, everything you share in counselling is treated with strict confidentiality. There are a few legal exceptions, which I’ll explain clearly before we begin, so you know exactly where you stand.

What kinds of issues can counselling help with?

Counselling can support you with a wide range of challenges, including anxiety, low mood, relationship difficulties, self-esteem, grief, and life transitions. You don’t need a specific diagnosis or problem, just a desire to explore what’s going on for you.

What if I don’t know what to talk about?

That’s completely okay. Many people feel unsure at first. We can start wherever feels easiest, and I’ll help you gently explore your thoughts and feelings. There’s no right or wrong way to begin.

How often will we meet?

Most clients choose weekly sessions, but we can discuss what works best for you. The frequency can be adjusted depending on your needs and availability.

Can I stop counselling at any time?

Absolutely. You’re in control of your counselling journey and can pause or end sessions whenever you choose. I’ll support you in making that decision in a way that feels right for you.

How do I book a session?

You can book a session by getting in touch via email or phone. After the free introduction call, we’ll agree on a time and format (in-person or online) that suits you.
